Approximately a year and a half ago, many of my friends on this mailing list received an email from me seeking assistance with image sales. The response was overwhelming and heartwarming. That’s not all. Thanks to those of you who responded, sales of my limited edition wildlife photographs increased exponentially.
Once again I come seeking your assistance. This time, I need your help in selecting a new batch of images that will be printed and sold in our booth at art festivals in 2015. It would help tremendously if you would select 10 images that you like best from those posted below. When you are finished, add your response in the box at the end of this post where it says Leave A Reply. Don’t forget to click Post Comment once you are finished.
“New Day Dawning” Number 1 “Morning Fog” Number 2 “Rocky Mountain Autumn” Number 3 “Elk in a Snow Storm” Number 4 “Autumn Morning at Brainard Lake” Number 5 “Is that you?” Number 6 “Fall on the Tundra” Number 7 “Billy Goat Gruff” Number 8 “Out of the Clouds” Number 9 “Rocky Mountain High” Number 10 “Plains Speedster” Number 11 “Snow on the Chilkat” Number 12 “Alone on the Ice” Number 13 “The Ballerina” Number 14 “Fantasia” Number 15 “Daybreak” Number 16 “A Glimpse into the Past” Number 17 “Chasing the Wind” Number 18 “As Darkness Approaches” Number 19 “Wild Horses of the Sangre de Christos” Number 20
They’re all nice, but 1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 16, and 18 are my favorites.
Thank you very much, Ken. It’s been way too long since our paths have crossed. Hopefully, you are staying busy with your own photography business. I cannot begin to tell you and all my friends that have responded, how much it means that you would take time to share your favorites with me. Thank you, Thank you. Thank you.
Weldon,
All of your images are great in my opinion. Wonderful to look at, but you asked for 10…so here are MY FAVORITE 10 images from above…
Numbers 3, 5, 6, 7, 12, 14, 17, 18, 22 and 25.
Just gorgeous!!
Wally
Thank you, Wally, for your wonderful comments. I hope your “best friend” is doing better today. It’s been 10 years since Melody crossed over and I still miss her very much. However, I know that one day I will meet her and my other friends at the Rainbow Bridge and we will all cross over together. Check out the following link and learn more about the Rainbow Bridge: http://www.indigo.org/rainbow/ You will probably need to cut and paste it into the address bar of your internet browser.
My first choice is New Day Dawning.
I love how the buffalo are coming toward you , the fresh packed snow, the leaves on the trees are a golden hue from the sun, the tracks are only from the animals, It has a warmth feeling until you look at the upper mountains that contain the snow drifted pine trees.
Thank you for your wonderful comments, Barbara, and for taking the time to share them with me.
My ten choices are as follows: 1, 3, 6, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 22 and 25.
These are so majestic in every way, my ultimate favorite is # 16. The landscape guy in me loves the colors in the sky and it looks like you added some fill into the foreground bringing some detail in the birds. Great work all the way around!!
Rick Winkler
Thank you very much, Rick. I just checked and was surprised to find out that it’s been three years since you attended my marketing seminar in Estes Park. It’s amazing how time flies when you’re having fun.
Hi Weldon,
As usual, very inspiring work indeed. However, since I had to pick, these are the ones I narrowed down to, and the ones I immensely liked.
Number 1, 2, 23, 12, 13, 9, 5, 3, 22, 20. By the way these are not in any particular order. However, if I have to pick the top 3, then they would be –
Third: #13 – Alone on ice
Second: #2 Morning Fog
First: #23 In search of Clams
As you can see, I’m a sucker for environmental shots 🙂
What a pleasure it was to go through those 26 creations of yours.
Best regards,
Shariq
I teach classes in B&W imaging and Judging images etc. See my bio.
Images I selected are 2. 4. 8. 12. 14. 16 and 22
Dave
My picks; 2,3,4,7,9,10 & 16. Good Luck.
Thank you, Peter, for sharing your picks with me.
My favorites are:
1; 4; 7; 12; 17; 18; 20; 22; 24; and 26. I do a lot of shows, so picked those that I thought would be the best for show sales.
Thanks for your help, Barbara. I always appreciate input from someone like you who also sells their photographs. If I remember correctly, the last time our paths crossed was in Haines, Alaska. Well . . . that’s too long. Let’s get together the next time you’re in Colorado.
images: 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 13, 20, 23, 24, 25.
Caveat – the non-Rocky Mountain photos may not sell as well in this region. People seem to want local wildlife. Having traveled to Africa and Alaska, I love those images!
Very beautiful images, Weldon. Good luck.
Thank you, Lyn. It always a dilemma trying to figure out what will sell. One thing I have learned, an image that one person likes, another may dislike for the very reason that the first individual liked it.
Numbers 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15, 18, 21, and 25.
Thank you,, Pat. I appreciate your input.
Great pics as usual. My picks are # 1,2,4,5,7,8,11,12,18, & 22
Good luck. I loved these. Joann
Thank you, Joann. It’s always goodd to hear from you. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me.
My favorites are: 2 – 12-14-15-18-19-22-23-24-25. Hard to pick as they are all incredible images. These are the ones that spoke to me. Thanks for the opportunity to have a voice in your choice!
Thank you, William, for your wonderful comments and for letting me know that it was important to you that I would give you the opporrtunity to voice your opinion in the selection of images we will be releasing next year. It’s important that you know that your opinion, along with that of others, is always important, because it’s individuals like you that make us successful at what we do.
Hard to choose…all great, Weldon! Narrowed it down to 11.
2, 4, 5,9,12,14,15,16,17,20, 23
Narrowed it down to what I felt would be most restful on my walls. (Not that there is any wall space left with my husbands photos all over the place.) Someone else might want the more exciting images. You do beautiful work. Hope all is going well for you.
Thank you, Sue. I really appreaciate your wonderful comments.

I chose pictures 2, 6, 9, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 21 & 23. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you, Joyce, for taking the time to respond to my email. If I remember correctly, you were interested in our wild horse photo adventure. Although I do not have any info posted at this time, the dates for next year’s wild horse photography workshop are June 14-17.
Beautiful photos..
My top choices are: 1, 12, 15, 16, 22, 24, 25
Good luck!
Thank you for your wonderful comments, Michele.
Well, Pappy you know I’m a big fan of your wildlife images and I have seen many more of them over the years than the 26 that you have posted here. So in thinking in terms of a dark wood floater frame and a 24 x 36 canvas wrap print with no comments about cropping, here is my take of the 10 images you requested.
4, 7, 8, 12, 14, 21, 23, 24, 25, & 26.
Good luck in your endeavors for 2015 and say hi to Lori for me.
Junior
Hey, Pappy. Always good to hear from my father down in Florida. Lori, said, “Hi!”

Love all of them! Would really like to purchase numbers 2 and 20.
Will you be at any shows in the San Luis Valley? Would love to see these works.
Thank you!
Susan Hof
Alamosa, Colorado
You comments are really nice, Susan. Thank you very much. You can put the two photographs (nos. 2 & 20) in Lay-Away if you like . . . pay half now and the balance in 90 days. Here’s ia link to our price list, which also shows pictures of the various display options available. http://www.weldonlee.com/#!/p/presentations-price The closest show to the San Luis Valley that we’ll be doing next year will be Crested Butte.
I like: 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 25 and 26

Thank you so much, Joyce. I would like to share the fact that a mountain goat photograph you made while Lori and I were guiding you on Mount Evans (near Denver) in 2013, won Grand Champion at the Morgan County Fair that same year.

Brice
Brice, thank you for your wonderful comments . . . and for taking the time to select your favorites and sharing them with me.
The ones I like best are 1,6,12,14,16,18,19,21,22,and 26. My only other thought is about the captions. I would actually rather not see them and then I can make up my own depending on how the image strikes me…just a thought. Hope you and Lori have a wonderful holiday season, Connie
Connie, thank you for voting and sharing your thoughts with me.
Wow, Weldon! You made it hard to choose. They were all gorgeous. Here are my favorite choices: 1, 3, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 25, and 26. (Of course, the eagle pictures were my favorite!)
6, 9, 19, and 23 were pretty awesome, too.
Debby, I really appreciate your wonderful comments. Thank you very much. Eagles are an excellent choice. They have always been popular. In fact, “Snow on the Chilkat,” (number 12) has received twice as many votes as the other images.
All your images are beautiful. These are my 10 best.
3, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 22, & 25

It is really nice to hear from you, Jamie. I hope you are still getting out and having fun with your photography. Thank you for pick out your favorites and sharing them with me.
All are great! I always wonder who will buy what of mine at art shows. Locals say only egrets and herons and gators here in the south, but I then sell zebras and lions and bears!
I picked 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 14, 24, 25 but……………………………………………….all great!
Sue, thank you for picking the 10 best that you like. I can totally identify with what you said. I had a 20×30-inch of “Friends Meet,” depicting two elephants along the Chobe River in Botswana at sunset in a gallery in Estes Park. A lady came in, fell in love with it, and just had to have the picture.
Your photographs are always wonderful. My favorites in this batch are: 1, 2, 6, 12, 16, 25
. . . and so are your comments, Kim. Thank you very much!
I’ll pick 1, 5, 7, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 26. Great job Weldon and good luck in your shows.

Pappa Gummy Bear-Some very nice images…1,4,6,7,8,12,16,17,22,25 are my picks but the selection is a tough one…time for us to share a meal sometime..best ric

Looked them over two or three times and selected the following as my 10 favorites
4, 6, 8, 12, 15, 17, 18, 22, 25 & 26
On #4 I would remove a few of the snowflakes around the eye so the eye is a little more prominent
Be sure to tell Lori I said hi as I haven’t heard from her in quite a while
Thank you for helping me select which images to release next year, Randy. You’re suggestion regarding Elk in a Snow Storm is “right on.”
Hard choices, Weldon. They are all fantastic, but here goes: 1, 3, 4, 12, 14, 18, 21 (had to pick the spirit bear since it is so rare AND I was on the trip!), 22, 25, 26. Good luck with your sales.
Thank you very, very much, Sandy. We really did have an awesome time on our Spirit Bear adventure.
All beautiful. My favorites were 3,4,5,8,12,14,22,23,25,26

All of these pictures are awsome, but this ten I like the most:

Greetings from Germany!
Bettina Rahner
Pictures are 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 14, 25

#2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 14, 17, 22 ,25 🙂
Thank you, Pam. FYI – Thank you for the opportunity to photograph the Forever 40s event at the Loveland/Ft. Collins airport this past September. I really had an awesome time.
Nicely done. Good to hear things are better and hope you have a good show.
1,3,5,7,12,14,19,22,25,26 are the 10 I would pick to show.

Susan, thank you very much.
Very, very hard decision, but I chose 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 12, 15, 17, 22, 25. I have been following your work for sometime and always enjoy ALL of your pictures!
Your comments are wonderful, Janice. I’ll do my best to live up to them.
All are fantastic, but I would select #s 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 19 and 20. Keep up the great work! Louise Pinkow
Thank you for your wonderful comments, Louise.
The photos are gorgeous. I have a weakness for landscapes so Rocky Mountain Autumn with the elk is probably my favorite – No. 3. I also like No. 25 & 26 as together they make a family grouping. Others I like include Nos. 5, 7, 12, 18, 20, 22, and 23.
Your comments are awesome, Sherry. I, too, like the Rocky Mountain Autumn photograph.
My favorites are as follows:
1, 5, 7, 10, 12, 16, 17, 22, 24, 25

Hi Weldon. Hope you are well.
My outstanding 6 pics choice are: 1/7/14/22/24/25 – then next 4 would be 6/12/23/18.
As you’ll see everyone chooses soooo different so a hard choice to make I know… I Love love love # 1 and #7 and #24 most yet when I read everyones comments a lot of people haven’t even chose them so its very difficult isn’t it.. With my photo cards I used to show 10 people 10 cards to pick their favourites but soon found they’d all pick different ones so you can’t win 🙂 I’m just blown away with 1 / 7 / 24 as the natural light is stunning so they’d be my top 3 choices if you were interested.. Thanks and take care.. Anita.. (Australia)
My choice 10 are 1, 3, 9, 10, 11, 14, 17, 19, 22, 25
All very nice. Good luck with many sales at the fairs. Will you put the dates in your newsletter.
A tall order, Weldon. In my time judging many prints and slides (digital images) and what I have learned from personal sale, my recommendations are as fallows: 1,3,7,12,14,16,19,22,24,and 25. If I were to add two more they would be 4 and 21. I sincerely hope this is helpful and not muddying the water for you!
Blessings!
Dennis
These images are so good that I didn’t know which to pick, but here are my 10 favorites: 1,3,4,7,10,12,16,17,22 and 25.

My top ten are 1,4,5, 9. 12, 13, 15, 16, 24, 26.
Gary-3-5-7-8-9-12-17-18-19-20 Cindy-1-3-5-6-11-12-14-21-22-23- It was hard to pick only 10.
Very hard to choose but finally came up with: 1,2,4,7,8,12,14,16,18 and 21.
Good luck with the sales, you have surely earned them !!!!!
They are all breathtaking! Here are my favorites. 1-3-4-6-14-17-19-21-25-26
Weldon, I loved viewing this collection. They are all wonderful, but the tingle factor pegged the meter for me on these ten: 3-4-6-7-10-12-14-23-24-26.
Thank you for your wonderful comments, John.
I love ALL of them, you take such wonderful photos, but here are my top ten: # 8, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 25, 26.
Thank you for sharing your work with us. I never tire of looking at it! You capture all the souls so wonderfully, and the landscapes are exquisite!
Becky
Hi Weldon,
This was fun. Always great to look at your photographs. You are a truly talented wildlife photographer. I think they are all strong images. My 11 favorites are 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 23, 24. I’m glad the art fair scene is working out for you. it should.
Cheers,
Tom
1,2,14,4,16,18,7,23,15,9.
Although I love the horses, I have found that when I sell a horse picture the buyer wants his own horses in the image. That’s Montana for you. Everyone loves the hummers when you use strobe to stop the wings. They look so much better sharp. Favorites 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 14, and 15
I agree with the folks who say that they are all gorgeous. They really are! Here’s my preferences:
1,2,3,4,10,12,15,16,23,26. Great work, Weldon
Weldon, I can say that this was a very difficult assignment. As you know, I have been a fan or yours for many years and have been fortunate to have shot with you over the years and to break bread with you also. But you only said ten. I think I was drawn to the ones that I can relate to. Animals and scenes that can be found here in Colorado. As one who also sells their photographs at arts shows and festivals, my choices echo the comments I hear from my customers: different. Although every photographer’s views are *different*, you want to stand out with more than just *traditional* shots (which are okay, too…just not all of them). You want to share that something that makes it *your* shot. You know what I mean! Wishing you all the best for successful 2015 sales!
Thank you, Andrea. I really appreciate your input.
